First Covenant Church seeks to be a diverse, multi-generational, urban Christian community that is a place of learning and transformation for all kinds of people.

Who are you? That’s the important question, because your presence changes us. In the end, we’re a group of individuals searching together.

We desire, with God’s help, to be:

grace-filled, reflecting the lavish love of God

biblically inspired, living the Book with humility

prayer reliant, depending on the supernatural mystery of communication with God

intellectually informed, staying curious and open

communally formed, transforming ourselves through relationships

collaboratively led, drawing on the strengths of many

artistically infused, joining God’s creative impulse

mission minded, risking love

socially aware, seeking justice for everyone

culturally engaged, building bridges in this time and place

We seek life that is expansive and rich through the profound, life-altering teachings of Jesus. We meet together for learning, friendship, and worship. We are egalitarian. We have unity—and diversity.

At First Covenant Church you can be part of the community at any stage of your spiritual journey. You don’t need to be a member to share your gifts, talents or abilities. Whether your passion is art, care for elderly, media, children and youth, music, working with your hands, teaching, or serving the poor, we need what only you can provide.
