The Community Church of Lake Forest & Lake Bluff

Who We Are

Inspiring worship, compassionate service, spiritual growth

The Community Church is an innovative, spiritually diverse congregation rooted in the Christian faith that is known for authentic worship & amazing music. We use existing community spaces for worship such as the Lake Forest College Chapel and the Lake Bluff Beach, have no formal membership, and virtually no bureaucracy - yet over 250 families call us their church home. As far as churches go, we are pretty fun...

Our Services

Service Times

  • 08:30am - Worship on the Beach
  • 10:00am - Oct - mid May

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services are one hour in length and include prayer, scripture, sermon, and lots of music (depending on the week - blues, jazz, classical, bluegrass, you-name-it!) People come as they are to worship, particularly during 17-week summer "Worship on the Beach" season. We try to make the services the best hour of the week.

What is the community like?
Open. Authentic. Grateful. Spirited.

What if I'm not a Christian?
While we are rooted in the Christian faith and have participants who reflect a wide range of Christian denominations and beliefs, we also have many people who are on a journey and are not comfortable with any spiritual label. If you are not a Christian, you will certainly be comfortable in our decidedly open and inclusive culture.
