About Us

New Life Community Church is a member of The Reformed Church in America, (RCA). The word "Reformed" comes from the historic Reformation of the 1500's, and simply means "changed" or "transformed." The early Reformers often said they were "Reformed (transformed) by the Word of God and are continuing to reform according to the Word of God." We follow in a long tradition of Christians who look to the Bible as the primary source of truth for life.

We are committed to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of life and desire to serve the Kingdom of God in our community. As one part of the larger Reformed Tradition, we seek to "be continually reformed" (changed and matured) through the Word of God in the Bible.

What to Expect

What are services like?
It can be an intimidating experience to visit a church because you don't know what to expect. Well, we hope we can give you some idea so you can relax and enjoy your visit to New Life Community Church. Dress - Casual dress is typical of most. Some like to dress up, others like to dress down but all like to feel comfortable so they can focus on meeting people and experiencing time to worship God. Preaching - Because we believe the Bible is God's Word for life we offer messages that teach and explain the meaning of Scripture. If you want a sample of a typical sermon go to the SERMONS tab and check it out. You can listen online or download them to take with you. Meeting People - You will definitely meet people at NLCC, and it can happen in many ways. You will be greeted at the door with a friendly handshake. If you have children you can check out our Student Ministries, Kingdom Kids and the Nursery, depending on their ages. We try to have people available to guide you to where you want to go, but if no one seems to be available just ask the Greeter at the door for some help. You can also get more information at our Information Desk (we sometimes call it "Grand Central") and you can stay for Coffee & Bagels after the service. Worship Style - We love God and we love all the best ways of worshiping him. Our Worship Services are not very formal but are orderly. We sing songs, historical and contemporary, that are rooted in Biblical Doctrines and are musically excellent. Our desire for you is that through the Worship Service you will see how great God truly is.

Scott Rees

Pastor Scott joined New Life Community Church in August, 2007. He has been married to Patti for over 27 years, and they have four children. He and his family moved from Fishers, Indiana after serving Christ's Community Church for 12 years. Scott is a graduate of Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa (B.A.) '82, Fuller Theological Seminary (M. Div.), '87, and Western Theological Seminary (D. Min.), '06.
