First Baptist has a family atmosphere; we act like family, a good one! There is good natured banter that goes on, sometimes even from the platform to the pew and back! We enjoy each other's presence and we love to welcome new people to our family. We emphasize God's grace and what that means for us today in living out our lives as God would have us.

Jim Laupp
A native of Michigan,God brought Jim and his family to Fort Dodge, Iowa in January 2010 to be the Pastor of First Baptist Church. After earning his Bachelor's degree from Grand Rapids Baptist College(now Cornerstone University) and studying at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary(now Grand Rapids Theological School),Jim entered the ministry in 1993,serving two churches in Michigan and one church in Pennsylvania before responding to God's call to come to Fort Dodge. Jim is passionate about building God's kingdom and seeing God's kingdom expressed among his people and the community of Fort Dodge. He longs to share the grace, hope and love that is only found in God's message through Jesus Christ, and to be used by God to build his kingdom through seeing people respond to God's invitation to become kingdom citizens and helping them learn what kingdom citizenship means. Jim is married to Mary Jo and they have four children, Esther, Margaret, Janessa, and Jay.Location & Directions
