Who We Are

We are a family-oriented church, big on relationships not so big on programs. We are also very service-oriented in the sense that our members actively engage the community on their own in hundreds of ways. Last year we were awarded the Servant of Christ award from Lutheran Social Services for excellence in service to our community.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our typical service is a blend of traditional hymns and more contemporary songs. We follow the Evangelical Lutheran Worship settings. The service length is 70 minutes. Childrens and Adults education preceed the service by an hour. There is also a coffee hour, one hour before and one hour following the service.

What is the community like?
Cottage Grove is an outer-ring suburb of the Twin Cities. There are several small shopping centers and two larger ones in town.

What if I'm not a Christian?
No problem. You will be well received here! After all, we are all on a long path of growth and learning, each at a different stage. You will discover this as you get to know us.

Mike Hanson

I have been a pastor/missionary for 27 years. Studied at Luther Seminary, three degrees actually. Studied Islam as well for many years, because many of the people I worked with in Cameroon were Muslim. Specialized in Youth and Family ministry for 8 years. I have lots of interests: reading( about 30+ books a year), motorcycles, hunting, fishing, target shooting, woodworking, networking, photography, etc
