About Us
St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran is a member congregation of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC). The NALC is "Christ Centered", "Mission Driven", "Traditionally Grounded", and Congregationally Focused".
St. Matthew's is a small, friendly, dedicated community of faith, witnessing to the truth of the Gospel in Riverside and the surrounding community. We offer a traditional worship service, Bible-based preaching and teaching, Sunday School classes for children and adults, an active women's fellowship, monthly pot-luck dinners, Vacation Bible School, and other special activities. St. Matthew's was founded in 1844, on the same spot where it now stands, and is one of the oldest churches in continuous existence in the Kansas City area.
We share our worship space with the Ebenezer Oromo Evangelical Church of Kansas City (meets at noon) and the Missouri Micronesian Church (meets at 3 p.m.)

Pamela yatesSt matthews is eonderful. Especially their fellowship. I have been ill, doing better and i am in need of help. I am sedentary and need a good cook, like the suppers at st. Matthews. I went there several times and everyone was so kind. Im 70 yrs. Old, and in a fix. I have nurses come, but they arent aloud do be caregivers or cooks.
