About Us
Real, personal and meaningful relationships are hard to find today, especially in our programmatic/arena church culture. However, at St. Mark we are dedicated to connecting with all of our members individually and connecting all to Jesus so as to shine the bright light of Christ throughout Omaha and beyond.
We would be honored to have you join us for worship. Come as you are. Jesus Christ has all you are looking for, and you'll find Him here at St. Mark!
Confessing the orthodox apostolic faith of the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, we proudly proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and King. We celebrate a faith shared with the very disciples of Christ, a faith that has been preserved and detailed in the Book of Concord.
Our congregation is a vibrant, active community that is dedicated to the one single mission Christ left and has entrusted His Church with; proclaiming the Gospel to all nations, baptizing and teaching them all of what God revealed in His Son Jesus Christ through the Scriptures.

Senior Pastor
I was born in Michigan, but I’ll always consider myself a Hoosier. That’s because my family moved there when I was just two, and my mom and dad are still in Indiana.
I went to Trinity Lutheran Elementary School, Concord Jr. High and High School (all in Elkhart, IN), two years at Indiana University, and earned my Bachelor’s at Concordia College, Ann Arbor, MI. Then it was off to study to be a pastor at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
While serving my vicarage / internship in Dallas, TX, I met the love of my life, Kathy Phillips. We became man and wife on June 16, 1990 (it’s been fantastic ever since). We are blessed with two wonderful children: Rebekah and Jacob. We are our own “core four” – we just love it when all four of us are able to spend time together.
Things I enjoy during my free time include watching movies, golf, and mowing the yard (yes, I really enjoy it). I’m also a diehard Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football fan.
One more thing I greatly enjoy – the ministry. It is such a privilege and honor to serve the God who loves us so much. To believe and know what our God does for us, how Jesus gave HIS life for us – what a gift!
