What to Expect

What are services like?
Welcome to South Bay Christian Alliance. We’re glad that you’re interested in visiting us! Below you’ll find information that will be useful in planning your visit and deciding whether to make us your church home. You’ll find when you spend time with us that we are far from perfect, but that we want to connect you to the One who is.

What is the community like?
Just as gardeners cultivate a garden, we cultivate these values in order to nurture a gospel culture: - We believe prayer is a priority. We believe that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing of eternal value. - We are passionate about God's Word. We desire to know and obey God by seeking truth from the Bible and applying it to our lives. - We believe that meaningful connections happen in small groups where we cultivate accountability, care and spiritual growth. - We know that we can accomplish nothing without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. - We are a river, not a reservoir. The great commission mandates that we GO and make disciples. We train, encourage, and support our church members to be sent out.

What if I'm not a Christian?
It's our aspiration that you will encounter and connect with the living God.

Leadership

Jeff Lopo
Pastor

Jeff Lopo was born and raised in San Diego, and is blessed to be married to his best friend Kylene since 2011. They have one son, Silas, who is adorable because he’s small and that’s how it works. Jeff received his Bachelor’s of Science in Pastoral Ministries from Nyack College in 2012. Since 2013, Jeff has served in pastoral ministry roles in the context of a local church. He was ordained with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in 2017. Jeff has a desire to see the body of Christ grow deep and wide in its knowledge of the Word and confidence in the power of Christ, “until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13). His vision is to see SBCA be a benefit and blessing to the community; so that, by using the gifts and resources God has given us, we may lead as many as possible to a saving faith that endures to the end. Some of his hobbies include roasting and drinking plenty of coffee, reading, and enjoying time together with his wife, son, daughter, and their dog Coco.
