What are services like?
First time at Open Bible? We know that the first visit to any place can be seemingly overwhelming. We completely understand, but we want to put you at ease. At Open Bible,We are a very small church much like a family. Below are some FAQ’s that we want to answer for you. What to expect as an Adult? Most adults attend our Sunday morning service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from our Pastor. This service begins at 11:00 and lets out at 12:00 or a little after. Also, during the 10:00 hour there is an adult Bible class offered for adults of all walks of life. This class is a smaller group setting,where you are invited to meet people, enjoy prayer and fellowship, and hear a lesson that is applicable to your stage of life. The best way to get to know people at Open Bible Baptist Church is to visit during our Sunday School hour. What’s here for my children? Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child from birth through college. At every service, there is a safe, clean, and staffed nursery for children four years old and under. For children five years old through sixth grade, there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. For students seventh grade through college age, we offer an exceptional teen Christ-centered class. Most of the teens attend a class one hour and then our Sunday morning service with their parents. Finding Nurseries, Classes, and Services Our ushers are located around the church. They will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place. Our nursery is located in the rear of our church. We offer classes for children of all ages on Sunday, so bring your entire family! What Should I Wear? While it is certainly not required, the majority of our congregation dresses in their Sunday best. Many men have on a tie, and ladies a dress; some don’t. The most important thing is that you are there. Do I have to give in the offering? Each service, our ushers will pass the offering plates. This is the time when you will give us your guest information card. Just drop it in the plate. Many of our regular attenders will give their tithes and offerings as well. If you desire to give, you may, but you will not have to or be expected to. Above all, we want you to experience a truth-centered friendly church when you visit. If there is anything that we can do for you, simply find an usher, pastor, or anyone that seems like a “regular.” They will take the time to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
