Our Services

What are services like?
Couch-based, someone always brings a story or quite that inspires them as a "Words of Grace" intro, our 2-5 piece band performs international, contemporary and other forms of Christian music and sometimes we stand and sing. Pastor Rachel offers a sermon that teaches about the Bible and its context. Open table communion is served by intinction to all every Sunday. At different times during the service the congregation is asked to share their prayer requests, and things for which they are thankful.

What is the community like?
Friendly, teens - 50s (but mostly 20- and 30-somethings), 'save the world' folks with a social justice bent. On any given Sunday you'll find 20 - 40 people spread out between the living room and our (professionally surpervised) kids room. We are full of volunteer spirit (and volunteer opportunities) with our youth/young adult foodshelf, Youth Night Out support, Minnesota Interfaith Open Forum, and current work developing a community safe house for homeless youth and human trafficking victims.

What if I'm not a Christian?
That's cool. You're still welcome to the food and worship. There are no rituals or practices that we would ask you to not participate in, and nobody gives you the stinkeye if you stay seated during communion. The sermons offer food for thought and you could still find the historical and cultural context of the Bible illuminating, whether you believe it is divinely inspired or just a popular book. We organize the semi-monthly Minnesota Interfaith Open Forum in the northwest Twin Cities with Muslim and Hindu partners and it is always a good time.
