About Us
John Lasley donated the land Lasley is located on. The original building was a log cabin and the first Methodist church in Louisa County. Actual records go back to October 20, 1780 when the first bishop, Francis Asbury, lectured on II Peter, chapter 1, verses 4-9, at “Lesley’s Meeting House” as the church was then called. After the cabin was outgrown a new wooden church was built at the current site. The second building served the community for many years until it was destroyed by fire.

Leadership
Judy DeBres
Pastor Debres has an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy, a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Family Health and Spiritual Services, and a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary. She is working towards a Doctorate of Ministry (DMin) at Wesley in the Soul Care Track. Debres is a volunteer chaplain at UVA Hospital and a PRN Hospice Chaplain. She is originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was during her time as a pediatric occupational therapist that she began to understand she was called to serve the families she was working with. She saw that there were so many families with special needs children who did not have a church home that could meet their family’s needs. These experiences allowed her to form and answer her call to ministry.Location & Directions
