Ebenezer United Methodist Church
A United Methodist church with traditional hymns worship in Louisa, VA
About Us
Ebenezer was first a log church on what is now Hickory Creek Road. It burned and was rebuilt on its present site on land donated by Richard A. and Eliza J. Perkins in 1890. The old church was likely used during the Civil War due to its close proximity to the Trevilians battlefield. The paved road that passes directly in front of the church was a muddy thoroughfare for wagons and horses in the early years.

Judy DeBres
Pastor Debres has an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy, a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Family Health and Spiritual Services, and a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary. She is working towards a Doctorate of Ministry (DMin) at Wesley in the Soul Care Track. She is a volunteer chaplain at UVA Hospital and a PRN Hospice Chaplain. She is originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was during her time as a pediatric occupational therapist that she began to understand she was called to serve the families she was working with. Debres saw that there were so many families with special needs children who did not have a church home that could meet their family’s needs. These experiences allowed her to form and answer her call to ministry.Location & Directions
