Fabric Minneapolis

About Us

church for people who don't like church

Fabric is a re-invented community of people who are trying to be church, not have one. Fabric seeks to create community in a 3-stranded way weaving self, others and God, around conversations that matter. Check out our website (fabricmpls.com), Facebook page (facebook.com/FabricMPLS), or podcast (fabricmpls.podbean.com) to learn more.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We meet in a middle school, so it can feel pretty different if you're expecting limestone and stained glass. We usually run about 75 min, commonly have songs then welcome people. We might ask you to stand up and say hi to a couple people, share a message, might do communion, pass offering baskets (though most folks give online), sing another song and call it a morning....then again, you might catch us on a week where we're doing something weird like sharing bread and wine in the gym, having an "open space" conversation, or exploring some live art. There are often kids around and people will get up and get coffee. If you'd like a little more detail, check out http://hereticalworship.tumblr.com/

What is the community like?
It's a really bright, friendly, rag-tag crew. Good mix of introverts and extroverts. You can check us out on Yelp too.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You'd be in the same boat as a decent chunk of our community. We want to help you have significant experiences of spirituality and to develop significant relationships. We think belonging is not contingent on believing. Or should we say that we don't think growing spiritually isn't the same as conforming to a set of doctrines.
