Founded
Our new cathedral was dedicated in July of 2017. Previously, we were known as Sacred Heart Cathedral which was located at 200 Hillsborough St. also in Raleigh. The original cathedral in Raleigh was the smallest in the continental U.S. seating only about 350. Our new site, Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral seats close to 2000. Sacred Heart, no longer Cathedral but Church, remains active for daily Mass and sacraments.
