Who We Are

GCC was founded in 1977, and is an evangelical free church committed to the truth of the Bible and its application to our lives.

Our worship service incorporates hymns, selected and contemporary choruses and a choir to achieve a blended style that helps our cross-generational congregation focus their hearts on Jesus Christ.

Finally, we are affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, a dynamic and rapidly growing association with churches located throughout the United States and with a strong international ministry.

Mat Samuelson

Mat Samuelson

Mat Samuelson began serving as Pastor of GCC in April 2011. Born and raised in Connecticut, came to love Jesus and UConn basketball (in that order). While attending UConn, Mat became involved with the student ministry InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF), deepening his love for God and the hard questions of life. After graduating with a degree in History, Mat went on to serve as IVCF staff at Trinity College, U. of Hartford and UConn. After 9 years in campus ministry, Mat married his wife Anne and finished his Master of Divinity degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Together they reside in Glastonbury and raising a young family.
