About Us

Simple worship, solid teaching, and safe programs for your kids, tweens, and teens.

Echo Community Church is passionately committed to being and making disciples of Jesus… it's who we are.
It's what we do. We don’t consider ourselves religious experts.

You’ll also find that we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our relationship with Jesus (and yours) very seriously.

At Echo, we’re all broken people in the process of being put back together. Our commitment is to lead you closer to Jesus by providing simple worship, solid teaching, and safe programs for your kids, tweens, and teens.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our services are casual and easy-to-follow. When you arrive, you'll be welcomed by warm, friendly people just like you with a handshake or a hug. Grab a cup of coffee or snack and follow the signs to securely check-in your children to the nursery, preschool, or Echo Kids programs. Our church service typically lasts 90 minutes.

What is the community like?
The three neighborhoods surrounding Echo Campus consist of Perry Hall, Nottingham, and White Marsh. These are largely suburban communities populated by a broad range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. It is a hub for working families with school-aged children as well as college students studying at one of the several universities in town. Within 3 minutes of our campus, you'll find White Marsh Mall, The Avenue, Loews Movie Theatre, and lots of shopping. There is also a great network of public parks and playgrounds available for all to enjoy.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You'll fit right in... many of our regular attenders come to Echo because they are curious about religion. Our commitment to you is that you will not be isolated, singled-out, or pressured to be anyone other than who you are. We do, however, make every effort to explain in plain language what it means to make a decision to accept Jesus Christ and commit to a lifestyle of following after Him. In every church service, we give opportunity for you to make this choice for yourself. The choosing is and always will be entirely yours to make.

Phil Knauer

Phil Knauer

Phil and Kendra Knauer have served Echo since 2012. Phil was born and raised in South Central PA and Kendra grew up in and around the Baltimore area. In February 2012, they celebrated the birth of their son, Chase, and in February 2017 they welcomed their son, Isaiah. Both graduates of Valley Forge Christian College, Phil and Kendra have given their lives to church ministry in Maryland and in Georgia. Phil is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God and has served as Children's Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Executive Pastor. Kendra has served as an Elementary School Special Education Teacher in the public school system. She recently completed her Masters Degree in Special Education. The Knauers returned to Baltimore in August of 2012 to be the Campus Pastors of Echo Community Church in Perry Hall, MD. Kendra currently serves as Children's Director for Echo. It is their desire to create a safe place for making more disciples to meet more needs among the individuals and families in this community.
