What to Expect

What are services like?
Episcopalians use a traditional liturgy, but that doesn't mean we're boring! We keep things lively, the sermon is about real life, and genuine hospitality is our goal and joy. Some people dress up, others come in shorts, and everyone is relaxed and glad to be there. We have 4 services every week. Our biggest is at 10AM Sundays, when a multigenerational group gathers to worship through song, prayer, the Word and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. The children have Sunday School for a while, then come in with everyone for their own special message and to share in Communion. Our most traditional service is at 8AM on Sunday - we even use Elizabethan English. It's really quite beautiful. On Saturdays at 5PM, we experiment with all kinds of different styles; we've had drum circles outside, contemplative services with chants, blue grass, rock 'n roll, and even Beer & Bible. That's where we read and discuss Scripture over a beer (real and root - your choice) and then share Holy Communion. On Wednesday mornings at 10AM we have a traditional service; on the second Wednesday of every month we have a healing service.

What is the community like?
We are disciples of Jesus Christ who love God's world, serve God's people, and celebrate God's goodness. We are multigenerational and we hail from all over. In the winter, we have lots of folks who come from the Great White North to thaw out in sunny Florida. There are babies and 90+ year-olds, and every age in between. We love to eat, and we love to share food. We collect dry goods for the local food bank every month, we sponsor dinners at a couple of homeless shelters, and we pack weekend snack sacks for schoolchildren who experience food insecurity. There are a bunch of other ministries - and if one you want to do doesn't exist, we'll help you get one started.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We'll meet you where you are. We really mean it when we say: Come as you are! All are welcome.
