Our Services

What are services like?
As you arrive at any of our meetings, you’ll notice that they are informal, people wear whatever they like and aim to be themselves. You can be yourself too. We try to create a friendly environment, so don’t be surprised if someone comes and speaks to you for the first time (they are probably just as nervous as you are!). Our typical service is preceded with with tea and coffee. As you get your drink, feel free to chat to someone or to find a seat before the meeting starts. Generally, our meeting will start with a time of praise and worship that will last for about 30 minutes. This is followed by any announcements and a welcome to visitors. During this time the offering basket will be passed round. If you are visiting, please let the offering basket pass you by, we want to make sure that you do not feel obligated to give. The announcements are then followed by a message that will also last around 30 minutes. After the message we have a ministry time. This is where people are given an opportunity to respond to the message, receive prayer for healing (or any other issue) as well as a general opportunity to draw closer to God. The aim of this time is to make room for God to communicate to us by His Holy Spirit. Our ministry teams provide a safe place for people to draw near to God and are all trained to pray according to His leading.

What is the community like?
We are made up of a variety of older couples and singles as well as a number of young families. It is a relaxed community where you can be yourself. There is no one here that you need to impress.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are welcome. Our aim is to have an environment where people from any background can come spend time with us while they explore what it means to follow Jesus. Our messages have very little jargon and are applicable to everyday life. Questions and exploration are welcome.

Billy Kent

Billy and his family came to join the Vineyard Church of Greenville from the Glasgow Westend Vineyard in Scotland. They arrived here on Sunday 22nd July 2012. The Kents come with a passion to join us in spreading the love of Jesus here in the upstate, and to help build a Vineyard that is contemporary, relevant and that has a positive effect on the greater Greenville area. Billy also has South African connections as he was born and grew up there, as a result his hobbies center around sports, with a special focus on rugby and soccer.
