Who We Are

Trinity Lutheran Church is considered a medium sized congregation in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). There are close to 200 young and old members alike in this congregational family.

We are a church ready and eager to face the future as God unfolds it for us. We are a church ready to accomplish great things in and outside this family of faith in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are happy to have you with us.

You matter to God and you matter to this congregational family. It is our belief that you will discover firsthand what this means during our time together. Always remember how much God loves and delights in you!

Our Services

What are services like?
During our Sunday worship we follow a Lutheran liturgy and this year we are following the Narrative Lectionary Scripture schedule. Our music is supported by our various music ministry groups which include a 15+ member adult choir open to any who want to sing. We love music in many styles and are thankful for the many talents of our members to lead us in our worship! We lift up Law and Gospel and strive to make sermons relate to life and helping us navigate the realities of 21st century living. Holy communion is offered at every worship service, and the invitation is open to all who want to join us for Jesus' feast! You don't have to be a member or even a Lutheran to come to the table.

What is the community like?
In Las Cruces, most everyone is from somewhere else. Many of us relocated to this area and have family in other states and cities. Because of that, we value relationships and finding others who will support us in our everyday living. We're friendly, welcoming, and caring. There's lots of young kids who are involved in our Sunday School ministries. Adults are involved in Sunday morning faith education and opportunities to meet throughout the week in a small group bible study, choir/music rehearsals and ministry projects. In 2010, we opened a free food pantry and provide food each Tuesday to anyone who needs help in our community. The food pantry is supported through donations of food and funding from our congregational members and this year, from a small one-time grant from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation. We also support local non-profits such as the Gospel Rescue Mission, Soup Kitchen, La Casa domestic violence services. Additionally, we provide support to Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America serving El Paso, TX.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We hope that you will find a warm welcome from a bunch of people who care about you. We hope that you will find a place where it is safe to wrestle with your doubt and your questions. No one will pass judgment on you here. We don't believe that being Christian means that 'we have it all figured out.' We also hope that you'll find people who are willing to help you find your faith and discover the God who has already found you in the cross and resurrection of Jesus. Our pastor, ministry staff, and any number of other church leaders are ready to help you in your journey and discovery of God's grace.
