Amb. Blango Ross, Jr
Pastor
One day, the disciples argued about who among them was the greatest. Upon hearing, Jesus said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” –Mark 9:35
Pastor Ross is uniquely comfortable in being last and a dedicated servant to the Strawbridge Church and greater community. His contagious joy, zeal, and energy can be witnessed in everything he does to God’s glory. As a gifted preacher, teacher, mentor, worship leader, musician, husband, father and friend, Pastor Ross is leading the Strawbridge UM Church to greater motive, mission and ministry, while admonishing faith and reconciliation as the building blocks of redemption and deliverance. God has been grooming him for this season since the early 70’s when he joined and regularly worshiped at the Timothy Baptist Church (Baltimore) and later at West Liberty (Marriottsville) & Emmanuel UMC (Beltsville).
Pastor Ross continues in the learned tradition of letting the Bible speak for itself and centering every function of church, family and community life on the infallible word of Almighty God! One scripture that guides both his tenacity and zeal is penned in 1 Corinthians 9:27, where it reads:
“I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.”
