About Us

a church for the community

Since its inception in the mid-1700s among German immigrants, St. Paul's has been sharing the light of Christ with the community in Amityville. Virtually every day of the week the church is "hopping" with activity, providing safe space for a number of civic and community groups. St. Paul's has a strong Christian education program featuring a staff of about 30 volunteer Sunday School teachers who share the Christian faith with students from 2 to 92, including five adult classes. St Paul's also is engaged in the world in both local and global missions. The church is also known for its turkey suppers in November and April and its peach festival in August.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Services are about an hour long. We gather as God's people to worship, we sing from hymnals, we hear God's Word read and preached, we lift our loved ones to God in prayer, we offer ourselves to God, and we are sent back into the world to share God's blessings with others.

What is the community like?
The people of St. Paul's are loving, but imperfect people saved by God's grace and growing together to know, love, and serve God. As a holy community of God they practice forgiveness as they seek to love and serve one another and the people around them.

What if I'm not a Christian?
This is a safe place to explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
