About Us

We're an Episcopal parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition on Tucson's east side.

St. Michael and All Angels Church strengthens people by word and sacrament to be agents of Jesus' gospel of justice, peace and love in the world.

The Episcopal Church offers honest and unconditional acceptance, which removes barriers to Jesus Christ and permits belonging to an authentic church community. We believe and teach the Christian Faith, in an unbroken line of succession from the days of Jesus and his Apostles. We accept all who come to Jesus Christ, regardless of race, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

The campus includes St. Michael's School, serving children in grades K through 8 and their families.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We offer six services on Sunday. Morning Prayer at 7:15 is a simple, quiet service of psalms, readings, and prayers to get the morning started. There is no sermon at this service. Low Mass at 7:45 is a service of the Holy Communion with hymns. It is a quiet and simple service. The Family mass at 9:00 is intended for children and their families - the atmosphere is informal and exuberant, and the service includes the Holy Communion. Our 10:30 AM Solemn Mass features traditional hymns with our Choir, incense, and chant. This liturgy is our fullest expression of the tradition of the Mass, or Holy Communion service. The 5:00 PM Low Mass is a quiet and contemplative service with Holy Communion. At 12:30, Pastor Keith Hardy leads our Misa Bilingüe in Spanish, with a sermon in English and Spanish. We also have several masses during the week, and a monthly contemplative Taizé service of of music, prayers, spiritual readings, and silence.

What is the community like?
Our parishioners range in age from babies to seniors over 90 years old - young and old and in between, rich and poor and in between, straight and gay, married, partnered, and single, but united in a sense of community and service to the world beyond the church's adobe walls. The church has many ministries and many opportunities to serve, from preparing food bags to working on border issues, from participating in the liturgy to making candy, from serving food at Coffee Hour to bringing health care to remote villages in Guatemala.

What if I'm not a Christian?
All are welcome at St. Michael's, regardless of faith background. However, the service is Christian, rooted in the Anglican/Episcopal tradition, and proclaiming Catholic faith as expressed in Holy Scripture and the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds.
