What is the community like?
The people know what it is to be the church in worship and service, welcoming and encouraging. We believe in serving neighbor both near and far and enjoy living our faith.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You'll be comfortable. This is a place to explore and ask questions. You'll be invited to connect first with the people and when you're comfortable you'll want to connect with God, God's Word, and service to others. You chose the pace with God's lead.

Valerie Fairchild

When I was in high school a friend invited me to her church, a new church start meeting in a school. The people welcomed me warmly and made me feel they were glad to have this random high school girl become a part of the group. I kept going because of the people and then heard the word and learned God wanted to be my heavenly father and from there I learned about Jesus. You can imagine why I am now excited to serve in a church start! I taught elementary school in my first career before feeling called to be a pastor. I attending Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. I served Tempe fist UMC for three years and then moved to Spirit song in July of 2010. I am married to John Fairchild who is also a pastor and serves Spirit of Hope UMC in Peoria. We have two grown children married to wonderful spouses and are blessed with four grandchildren.
