About Us

The Apostolic, Pentecostal church for Scottsdale UPCI

Sanctuary for Scottsdale is a church where new friendships are established and a fresh start in your life can begin through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. Within this site you will find helpful information about Sanctuary For Scottsdale church. Take some time to look around and discover Sanctuary for Scottsdale and what we have to offer.
Why are we called Sanctuary For Scottsdale?
Sanctuary has traditionally meant to be a place of protection and refuge for fugitives. Grabbing hold of the horns of the altar in the temple was a way for fugitives to claim sanctuary or protection from those who would pursue and kill them. No one was allowed to hurt the person who sought refuge in the sanctuary.
Many church bodies say everyone is welcome, but when you investigate further, you discover that is not necessarily the case. We welcome and offer respect to all people, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey. We endeavor to help people become all that God created them to be.
We all need a sanctuary; a shelter, a safe place to feel love, get restoration, find peace, regain alignment with God, gather perspective, refocus, find and offer trust.
We strive daily to be the essence of John Thompson’s and Randy Scruggs’s hymn “Sanctuary”: “Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for You.”

Thank you very much for responding, I appreciate it. I was baptized in Phoenix a long time ago when Bro. McCarrey was there. R.I.P. / then moved to Shiprock, NM and attended the UPC church in Farmington Bro. Carrington is the pastor there. I'm currently in a Rehabilitation Center here in Scottsdale. I am looking forward to attending your church when I am free to do so. 😃
