About Us
Philippi Christian Church was founded in 1871 and served the local community of watermen, boat builders, local business folks and farmers for almost a hundred years, at which point many new people began to move into the area in pursuit of vacation and retirement pastimes. Philippi has continued to welcome this growing new community with warmth and love at the same time, preserving the two-fold mission of rediscovering the New Testament intention for the Church of Jesus Christ and of promoting and advancing the unity of the whole church on earth.

Philippi Christian Church has something for most everyone. The congregation is very friendly; the musician is very accomplished; the minister is extremely likable and people oriented; there is both a traditional and a non-traditional service. The Church is very community oriented, but at the same time recognizes responsibility to the world.
