What to Expect

What are services like?
There are 3 services on Sunday, each center around the celebration of Holy Communion. The 8am service is a said service without music or choir; the language is traditional. The 9am service is family oriented with a children’s chapel and church school following the service; the music is often contemporary or folk music though traditional hymns are included. The 11.15am services include a more formal sung liturgy, and during the academic year the voices of the Choral Scholars from William & Mary College accompany the organ with traditional hymns and chants.

What is the community like?
The community is vibrant and warm. Dress ranges from jeans to coat and tie, but everyone wears a smile. You will find a community that is active is helping others, and you will find a community with a deep spiritual foundation. Community and personal prayer abound. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are alive and well here at Hickory Neck.

What if I'm not a Christian?
If the Holy Spirit is calling you to visit our church we welcome you. We would love to learn about your journey and share with you about our own faith. It was said by one of the early church fathers that “Christians are made, not born.” We would be pleased to help you take those next steps.
