Our Services

What are services like?
First Sundays are typically traditional to include Holy Communion. Second Sundays are youthful with participation from the Children's Bell Choir and Total Praise Dancers. Third Sundays are a bit youthful because of the Holy Communion (serving the children first). Fourth Sundays are a mixture of tradition and contemporary with the Rejoice Contemporary Ensemble and the Total Praise Dancers. Fifth Sundays the children, youth, and young adults have total responsibility for the service including the sermon.

What is the community like?
The community is predominantly white, conservative, and aging. The congregants are communiters, predominantly Black/African American, progressive, church (only 25 years old). We have same-gender couples, many families with gay or lesbian child (ren), and a ministerial team that practices an encourages the congregation to BE an open, welcoming, radically hospitable, inclusive justice-centeredness, unconditional love of God seeking people of faith.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We have individuals who do not claim to be Christian. Who you follow, if anyone, is between you and your Divine one.
