What to Expect

What are services like?
Our worship services are of the traditional variety. We use the historic liturgy that has been used by many Christians for centuries. We value the depth of the tradition, but not just for tradition's sake. In the liturgy we hear God's Word and see the life of Jesus each and every Sunday. We also try to teach why we do what we do. If you are visiting, our worship style may seem odd. However, there is a great amount of meaning in each part of what we do. We will work to share that with you so you can understand why we do what we do. That being said, even though our services are traditional, they are laid back. We strive not to be stuffy, but genuine and reverent as we encounter the God who created the whole universe.

What is the community like?
Those who worship at St. Paul's are a very friendly and welcoming group. We firmly believe that we are joined together as brothers and sister in Christ!

What if I'm not a Christian?
If you are not a Christian, you are more than welcome to join us! We are here to answer any questions you have when it comes to matters of faith and life. We will be upfront about what we believe and will do our best to explain it. We are firmly committed to walking with you in your spiritual journey, showing you Christ.

Brett Hinrichs

Brett Hinrichs

Before telling you something about myself, I want to encourage you to remember that a pastor is there to show people Jesus. It is never about him and his personality, but always about Christ. However, since we do like to know a little about the man whom God has called to service, the following is a brief bio about me. Pastor Brett Hinrichs was ordained and installed as pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church on July 6th, 2014. Before coming to Cambridge, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2010 and his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 2014. During his time at the seminary he met his wife, Krista. They were happily married on June 13th, 2014 and have been settling into their new life together. They enjoy playing various musical instruments, meeting new people, playing board games, and doing any outdoor activity, especially playing with their new puppy, Penny.
