Mark shared their experience Aug 2012
St. Mark's is connecting with the Spirit and in the midst of a renaissance of sorts. Under Father Antonio Checo's leadership, a true sense of community within the English and Spanish-speaking congregations and between the two groups is gelling. Lay people are empowered to serve the community in various ministries and the church is looking beyond its walls to serve the people of Jackson Heights, Queens, and the Diocese of Long Island and the world. The church's new Lion's Share pantry is an example of a grass-roots ministry that is providing food to families in need in Jackson Heights. A wonderful mix of young and old, straight and gay, black and white, and everyone in between.
