We are an open and affirming congregation that celebrates the love of God and the diversity of humanity. We gather as a community to worship together, to seek faith with understanding, and to engage in service to the world.

What is the community like?
Riverside Avenue Christian Church has lived out this witness in the Riverside-Avondale community since 1921. We affirm that Jesus is the son of the Living God, whose grace provides forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God and with one another. We affirm that all people are God’s children and strive to live this in all our actions. We believe in the individual freedom of Christians to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study, prayer, and the community of faith. This belief helps create a broad spectrum of faith-understanding in our church, and we seek to honor our differences faithfully by striving to learn from one another’s faith convictions.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We affirm that all people are God’s children and strive to live this in all our actions. All individuals are welcome to come, see and hear the word of God. We celebrate the open table and you are not required to be a member of this church or any church to participate in the Lord's Supper. Through our act of obedience in remembering Jesus, we have communion each worship service. RACC also would never force anyone to take communion. It's open for all who would like to partake.
