Our Services

What are services like?
Our approach to worship reflects the historic traditions of the early church. Our liturgy (the order of our worship) is a unique blend of ancient and future expression that captures the imagination. We draw from the best of our ancient faith in ways that connect us with Christ’s church and invite us into a rhythm of prayer that transforms our lives. The centerpiece of our worship is the celebration of the Eucharist (or communion), in which God pours out his grace on us through the gift of his son Jesus Christ. If this is your first time at Redeemer, we invite you to relax, listen and take it all in. Everything you’ll need to know is printed in our program. So don’t worry about following along. Redeemer Kids check-in and an information table with resources for you to connect are located in the lobby. You’ll be greeted with lots of really friendly folks that will love to help you feel like you belong.

What is the community like?
Our community is hospitable and warm. We love to share life together and welcome others into the conversation. You'll find a down-to-earth group of folks eager to love each other and reach out.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Our church is a safe place to explore questions of faith and life without being harassed or coerced. We believe each one of us has a unique pilgrimage of faith and we're are glad to as patient and gracious as our God is with us.

I love Santa Cruz. I love the people here. I think God feels the same. I’m so excited to be part of this new church where we get to spread God’s love in a way that’s deeply rooted in history, that looks creatively toward the future, and yet is at peace with process and the present. I have been happily, joyfully, no, gleefully married to my best friend, Julie, since 2001. We have two lovely daughters, Lyric and Story, and two sons, Ransom and Archer. My family is a complete joy and I am honored to be part of it. I was ordained to the Priesthood in 2012, and I look forward to journeying alongside you as we seek to follow the Lord, honor him as we travel, and are formed along the way.
