Our Services

Service Times

Saturday
06:00pm
Our Saturday Night Services offer spirited informal worship with a lot of music, fellowship and sharing from 6 to 7 p.m. Come experience the church in the evening with the awesome sight of the cross softly bathed in colors through the stain glass windows. It is very powerful, serene, and comforting.
Sunday
10:30pm
Our Sunday Worship Service offers a nice blend of traditional hymns along with upbeat praise songs and everything in between. In addition to printed bulletins, we project the entire service (including lyrics to songs, prayers, and other responses) on a large screen to help everyone follow along.
09:15am
Our Sunday School offers a family-oriented, interactive Bible study. Bring your Bibles - you will be learning where to find scriptures and how to apply them to your life in a relaxed and friendly setting where everyone shares and contributes.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Our aim is to make our services comfortable & user-friendly for those who haven't been in church before. We don't want anyone to feel out of place. Our worship services are easy to follow because they feature a multi-media format including easy-to-view presentations & lyrics on a large screen with a blend of traditional hymns & contemporary praise songs. We focus on messages that challenge everyone to live and grow in Christian love. Hymnals, Bibles & Bulletins are also available for those who wish to follow the service in a more traditional format. Children are invited to sit with their parents at each gathering if you wish. Nursery is provided for families with young children who would like to worship with us at the Sunday 10:30 a.m. service. Please bring your children upstairs before service starts. Ask our greeters for details if you have any questions. We offer Saturday night worship in addition to Sunday mornings!

What is the community like?
We love because God first loved us! We offer a Safe Sanctuary where everyone can Worship in Peace regardless of their social preferences, race, color or creed. The People of Porchtown Church treats everyone like family by providing a safe and friendly place of worship and growth so that we might all live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

What if I'm not a Christian?
Everyone is invited to come out and see if our church family is what they are seeking. We gladly answer any questions a visitor has and Pastor Pete would be honored to answer any doctrine questions that you might have.

Leadership

Peter Broomall

Peter Broomall

Rev. Peter J. Broomall, Sr.'s home church was First UM Church of National Park where he was involved with the youth ministry for 15 years. He is an Alumni of the Philadelphia Biblical University + Wesley Theological Seminary. His first appointment in 1996 was Dennisville UMC and South Dennis UMC in Cape May County, N.J. He also served Trinity UMC in Gloucester City, N.J., before his assignment at Malaga UMC in 2006. In 2010, Pastor Pete's assignment included Porchtown Zion United Methodist Church in a shared ministry. Pastor Pete's philosophy for his current assignment with Malaga - Porchtown Parish is to consider each congregation as part of the same church located on two different campuses - literally around the corner from each other. Each church family retains its own personality / governing body while the shared ministry enriches the lives of all the members of both churches and the community at large as they journey together. Pastor Pete's top eight priorities are Preaching, Spiritual Growth of Members, Teaching, Stewardship, Evangelism, Mission in Community, Youth Ministry, and Children's ministry.
