Pleasant Garden Baptist Church

Diane: My home Church since I was 11 or 12 years old. My Dad was a quadrapalegic and Pastor Vernon Williams arranged for he and my sister Sherri G Bowers to get baptized in a neighbor's pool. Wheel chair and all! He and Mom watched the service from home on Sunday mornings. (No internet back then but a special set-up for those unable to attend). Then there's was pastor Barrett God Bless him and his family as well as Pastor Williams. Pastor Barrett saw our family through a lot of difficulties, even when he and Teresa were dealing with some things which God stepped in and healed. What a 1st lady! Then we all knew and trusted that Pastor Barrett would be lead by the Holy Spirit and accept nothing but a family oriented pastor to take over the guidance of his young people and bringing families together. He put in a very good word for Pastor Robert Hefner, 1st lady Diane and their son. We only went a few times after pastor Hefner took the lead because of unbelievable health problems. It's a miracle we are both still here today. I still consider them Church family. We were married there in 1978. I was baptized on Mother's Day with my sons in 1995 and Cookie was baptized on Easter Sunday 1997. It's home! The people are Family!
