Who We Are
Learning the Truth with Love for All
Who are we? We are a community of Christians who gather around God's Word and sacraments. In response to Christ's love we reach out and care for all people, encouraging them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. That means you are very important to us! Regardless of where you are in life, there is a place for you here. Our desire as a church is to assist you and your family in your growth whether it is spiritual, emotional, physical or relational. We pray that this site will provide you with information and insight into our mission and ministry. Visit us often for updates and new information.

Carl Gnewuch
Rev. Carl Gnewuch is the son of Lutheran educators, Dr. Minnie and the sainted Rev. Dr. Col. Donald Gnewuch. His childhood years were spent with his four sisters, first in parsonages in Oklahoma, then in off campus housing in Seward Nebraska, and finally in the family home in Forest Park Illinois. Minnie taught first grade at St. John’s in Forest Park and specialty education classes at Concordia University. Donald was the graduate dean of Concordia University, a chaplain in the US Army Reserve, and the human care pastor at St. John’s.
