This church was my childhood. Pauline Moore was my Sunday School teacher during the 1950's and early 1960's. My Grandparents Maggie and Cleve Campbell were founders. my Aunt Sarah Campbell Watterson had the first wedding at the church and it was a beautiful big wedding. All 5 of us myself and my siblings were baptized there. MRS WALLACE lived in the white house just at the end of the church property and on the many occasions when we would hold outside picnics or fellowship reunions, she would walk down with a freshly baked cake or pie, while still wearing her apron. We all were taught to sing and perform plays and of course the important CHRISTMAS programs. MR CLYDE would always cut a fresh tree and all of us brought an ornament to decorate the tree. Apple Bobbing in the big metal pan was fun. The Elders always went into town and bought fresh fruit and nuts and made up a goody bag for each child. I still remember the old fashion raisins that were on stems like grapes and the candy canes. This very Special church was the start of my belonging to a big beautiful family and instilled in me the knowledge and love of the BIBLE. I still have my BLACK BIBLE that was given to me and signed and dated when I was Baptized. It is one of my prized possessions.

Mount Olive was our family church for generations. My grandparents Maggie and Cleve Campbell were founders, and helped to build the church. My Aunt Sarah Campbell Watterson was the first to have a wedding there and it was a big one with all of us in the wedding party. when I was a child my Sunday School teacher was MRS MOORE. Mrs. Wallace that lived across the lot is a relative and she baked the best cakes. So many wonderful memories and my family still talks about our beginnings at MT OLIVE.
