About Us

Making Christlike disciples in the nations.

MCN is a family oriented, biblically based fellowship that has served the Manchester CT area since 1897. MCN's worship is conservatively contemporary, and the church offers a wide range of opportunities for children and teens. Cornerstone Christian School is hosted by MCN. CCS is a pre-K through 12th grade private school which educates about 200 students annually. It is the only school in CT that is certified K-12 by American Christian Schools International. Pastor Dan Whitney leads an excellent staff of ministers which include an Associate Pastor (Garry Light), a Worship and Connections Minister (Tonia Light), a Children's Ministry Director (Nancy Whitney), as well as many other dedicated leaders.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Coffee and snacks are available in the lobby before service begins, as a bridge between the morning Sunday school session ( 9:30AM ) and the worship service. Services begin at about 10:45 each Sunday morning. After a worship section of contemporary choruses and perhaps an updated hymn, there will usually be a time of prayer. An offering is received as an expression of worship. The reading of Scripture leads to a biblically based message delivered by one of the pastors, usually lasting about 20-25 minutes. There is usually a closing song and always a blessing at the end of each service.

What is the community like?
The church is comprised of a full range of individuals and families of every age group. There are lots of kids running around, with parents trying to keep up with them. We reflect our neighborhood in terms of diversity, so we are about 70 percent white and 30 percent other ethnicities. Economically, we are from every level of society. We are an active group and we enjoy being together. We are rediscovering the rhythms of the Christian Calendar by adding new (rediscovered) Christian holidays to our lists of observances. This, of course, gives us more chances to be together!

What if I'm not a Christian?
You are certainly welcome here. Our goal is to live well as citizens of the Kingdom of God. We believe we are called to reverence all people, and to respect the journey the Holy Spirit invites each person to accompany Him on. We preach a gospel of transformation . . . so we fervently believe that God is working on all of us to become the people He dreamed we could be when He created us. This is a great place to learn, explore, pray, listen and become.
