Magnolia United Church of Christ (Congregational)

We are a church of great warmth and welcome. Inspired by the teachings of Christ we honor and embrace all who enter. We share a genuine concern for one another as we worship, learn, nurture and play together. With depth and sincerity we say, “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here”. We have adopted the Open Church Resolution (1963) and the Open and Affirming Resolution (1996)
We celebrate our faith with music and creative arts – With dance and drama, poetry and prayer, art and anthem we express and experience the mystery and wonder of God. In our creativity we know comfort and joy and connection.
We long to reach outside of ourselves – Our outreach efforts extend into the neighbor, city and greater denominational offerings. Christ’s teachings guide us as we dedicate our time and money to organizations and efforts that make a difference in the lives of others. Ten percent of our budget is designated for benevolences each year.
We love our beautiful location – Plucked from the green rolling hills of ye olde English countryside, our building is an asset to the congregation and to the community. Since its early years, Magnolia UCC has been an active supporter of our community by sharing the building with various community interest groups.
We embrace that we are congregational and non-creedal – We were founded as a Congregational Church and became a member of the UCC in 1962. We value local autonomy, the freedom of each person to pursue their own spiritual journey, and the covenant that binds us together as a congregation of mutual support.
