The Rock is a church that began over 11 years ago in Anaheim, CA and has grown from just a handful of people into a thriving congregation of over 5,000. Over 5 years ago, Neil Kelly, a Kalamazoo native and long-time staff pastor in Anaheim, returned home to open up the first extension campus of The Rock.

What started out as a vision from God, has now become a powerful move of God that has seen tremendous success and growth. We are experiencing changed lives, healed bodies, and saved souls!

We are a church without borders, pushing forward to build solid lives... and that starts with you!

Neil Kelly

Passionate to see the ministry of God’s word at The Rock taken to new territory, Pastor Neil and Christie are pioneering the start of The Rock’s first satellite campus in Kalamazoo Michigan. Neil was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI, and gave his life to Christ there when he was 18. He went on to graduate from LIFE Bible College East in Christiansburg, VA. with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. Neil and Christie have been youth pastors in Illinois and California, and have led over 1,000 teens and adults on various domestic & international short-term missions trips. Together they have been serving in ministry for 13+ years, 9 of which have been in partnership with Jerry and Kimberly Dirmann, Senior Pastors of The Rock. Neil has been a key leader at The Rock since joining the team in 2001 as an Associate Pastor. His shepherd's heart, leadership skills, and passion for teaching the word make him a gifted minister. Neil and his wife Christie, also a licensed minister, have been married 19 years and have three wonderful children: Mariah (11), Makenzie (9), and Neil II (7).
