We exist to introduce people to a Greater Leader, A Greater Way, and a Greater Life.

Greater Mt Zion, GMZ, is led by Gaylon C. Clark . The only reason our church is on the planet is to introduce people to a Greater Leader, a Greater Way and Greater Life,

We have identified 8 causes to transform Austin and are partnering with numerous strategic organizations to champion the change we desire for our city, the 8 great causes are: Disengaged Men, Economic Empowerment, Education, Fatherlessness, Health, Poverty, Single Parents and Teen Pregnancy.

We encourage you to check out our website where you will find detailed information on our ministries, events and service times. GMZ offers 3 worship experiences, 8am, 10am and 12 pm. Promise Land, our children's ministry ages 6 months-5th participates in their own worship experience. Students grades 7th -12th attend the Student Worship service located on campus.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Services are casual and normally run 90 minutes. We encourage you to always arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a sest of your choice.

What is the community like?
Our church community is warm and loving and we have never met a stranger. We are accepting and non judgemental. We try to exemplify what it means to show Jesus' love in a practical way at all times. Here at Greater Mt Zion we are building greater relationships and would love to have a relationship with you!

What if I'm not a Christian?
We are prayerful you will one day have a relationship with Christ.

I am so proud to be a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist church. It truly feels like a family the moment you arrive. Pastor Gaylon Clark is an amazing Pastor who shares his pulpit with the other ministers as we all give Praise to Our Father in Heaven. As our service grows we have expanded to a Saturday at 5:30 pm service which is great. the 10 am service is definitely the largest congregation but honestly anytime you go you will experience the best in Faith as The Word is delivered. It is amazing. Let me say this I moved to Austin so I could go visit The Potters House in Fort Worth and Lakewood Church in Houston alternating every other weekend. I wondered in GMZ and have yet to leave I am going on 3 years strong! It is AMAZING!
