What to Expect

What are services like?
We begin with several hymns and choruses, followed by Scripture reading and prayer. An average sermon lasts about an hour. We close with announcements, prayer requests, and congregational prayer. And the doors stay open until everyone has finished visiting and fellowshipping.

What is the community like?
My favorite comment from visitors is, "Your congregation is so warm and friendly." We don't just talk about being Christians, we are committed to living out our faith and demonstrating it by our charity, kindness, and grace toward others.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You'll be challenged and encouraged to consider the propositions of the Bible. We know that we cannot talk you into anything. It's only by God's determination and power that any sinner is regenerated and comes to faith in Christ. So, we will present the truth and expect God to do the things that only He can do.

Jim McClarty

After spending his 20's in the music and entertainment business, Pastor Jim was confronted with the truth of Christ's resurrection. He served a four-year ministry internship in Los Angeles before moving to Middle Tennessee. After serving as a teacher and interim pastor, he was ordained in 2000. GCA became a public church in 2001. He loves old books, theological tomes, and the people who make up the GCA family scattered around the globe.

I am looking forward to a decline in Covid19 so that we can attend the church services again. The fellowship is great!

Another internet-only member, but I cannot fully describe the value of the teaching here. Pastor Jim has an amazing gift, in his ability to take the most complicated topic, and break it down to be completely understandable. He then weaves it in with other concepts to provide a thorough understanding of the topic. While I grasped the Doctrines of Grace when I first stumbled upon GCA, it was here that I really learned to appreciate the intriquite ways these doctrines are interwoven,

A God honoring, Christ exalting place to learn what the Bible really says. My family has been so blessed by the internet ministry of this church. This is truly a unique Body of Christ and a place where we also hope to visit someday. You will be edified and don't be surprised when you hear Pastor Jim say "Now all of that does not count against my time!" - but not to worry, he'll still keep it around that hour mark - although quite frankly, most of us wouldn't mind listening to a sermon that's a few hours long. Just go - then you'll understand what I mean and may our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, richly bless your visit. The Bryants, Kalamazoo, MI
