Grace Baptist Church

About Us

We exist to display God's glory and manifold wisdom.

Grace Baptist Church is a recent church re-start that meets in downtown Wake Forest. Here you'll find an emphasis on the gospel of Jesus Christ, the best news any of us has ever heard, along with meaningful membership, small groups, verse-by-verse expository preaching, courses in theology and Christian living, and people who want to help you grow as a Christian or answer your questions about the Christian faith. We want to be a church in which loving and following Jesus is normal, not exceptional. And we'd like a chance to get to know you. That's about the sum of it.

What to Expect

What are services like?
We understand that visiting a church can be a pretty intimidating experience. Below is an idea of what you can expect when you visit Grace Baptist. Sunday Morning Worship Our worship services will begin with a Scripture reading and a pastoral prayer, followed by a time of congregational singing. We try to sing both old and new songs that proclaim the greatness of our God. We preach through books of the Bible and try to show you how each is relevant to your life. If you are vistiting with us, don’t worry, we won’t ask you to stand up or raise your hand. The service lasts approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. What you wear isn't our chief concern. Some will wear jeans or khaki pants, others might wear a coat and tie.

What is the community like?
What should I expect? With Grace Baptist Church you will find a vibrant, loving group of people who have joined together to celebrate the good news of Jesus, help one another follow Him well, and tell others about Him. We come from different places, have different accents and skin colors, are of different ages and stages in life, and have different incomes and levels of education. In a word, we're diverse, not homogeneous. Some people might tell us that this goes against all the conventional wisdom of niche marketing a local church. We imagine that it actually displays the manifold wisdom of our God who saves the dissimilar and unites them in one body through the work of His Son and Spirit (Eph. 3). Some of our members have been Christians for decades, others are new believers, and some who aren't members but attend regularly aren't Christians but are interested in learning more about Jesus.

What if I'm not a Christian?
I’m not a Christian/I have doubts/I don’t know a lot about the Bible, am I still welcome? Of course! Anyone is welcome to come to our services. You can feel free to see what Christians do and what Christians believe. We won't judge you or look down on you. In fact, all of us were once non-Christians, so we know a bit about where you're coming from and love it when non-Christians meet with us. We would love to get to know you, find out how we can serve you, and answer any questions you may have about the Christian faith.
