Our Services

What are services like?
It’s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. Sometimes you feel like a non-member visiting a health club?! Do I belong here? Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? Will I be conspicuous? Will it be easy to leave if I don’t enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress? Am I welcome if I don’t believe or I’m not churchy? Your visit to GTC should be an enjoyable experience, easy, stress-free, and relaxing. GTC is designed to be "user-friendly" for people, whatever their background, including those who have never been to church before. In fact, many of our people were not regular church attendees before starting at GTC. Attire ranges from casual to coat-and-tie formality. Most people dress in business casual clothes, although we don't have a dress code!

What is the community like?
Messages are bible based; practical messages that help you deal with real life issues. Each message includes concrete, relevant application to everyday life.

What if I'm not a Christian?
What to pray: Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12) "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

What Members Say Add your voice

  • My grandmother, Winifred Elizabeth Hodges, and aunt, Elsie Hodges as well as more Hodges' were members. I also remember Barcliff {sp?}
  • When the church was at its old location in Norfolk, Va. I knew Rev. Arthur Graves and his wife very well. My mother invited them to dinner often. Does anyone at the present church have old pictures and membership lists for the old Norfolk location?
