What to Expect

What are services like?
When you arrive at Galewood Community United Church of Christ, you will be greeted by friendly faces and smiles. GCUCC staff members are available to answer any questions you have and to help make your visit as comfortable as possible. We are a Bible teaching and Bible believing church. You will experience dynamic praise and worship and Rev. Myra M. Taylor, our Pastor or another staff minister bring forth the word. Our regular worship services are approximately one hour and 30 minutes, but that timeframe is subject to change under the direction of the Holy Spirit

What is the community like?
Our church is a multi cultural and diverse church. You will find people dressed casually or some in suit and ties, our only requirement is that you wear clothes. We are a growing church of imperfect people from all walks of life, coming together in unity to lift up the mighty Name of Jesus.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We want you to know that first and foremost that salvation is freely yours and that God loves YOU so much that He gave His one and only son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for YOUR sins. Romans 10:9-13 says ' 9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” So we welcome you with open arms to experience the power of Christ in your life. We truly believe that God has great things in store for your life and we want to love and support you spiritually on your journey.
