Founded in 1924, we have served the Elmhurst community for over 85 years, and cherish our history, as we look ahead to where God is calling us. We joy in learning scripture, and in serving those in need in our community and the world. We are on a spiritual journey listening for God’s guidance, believing in God’s grace as we face a life filled with events that confound us, cause us to question, and give us hope.

Our congregation includes many ages and backgrounds from many different geographical areas. We aspire to increase our diversity and welcome others to our community. Take the first step in your search for a family of faith through any of our activities, and especially worship, where we come for nurture, and return to the world to bring the light of Christ.

What to Expect

What are services like?
The Christian life begins with a vital Sunday worship service. Every Sunday we pray, sing, and hear the Word. Music, art and drama are essential elements of our worship services. We are intentional in involving all ages from children to seniors in our Readers Theatre, three choirs, handbells and orchestral ensembles. Our music ministry team fills the sanctuary with music and our hearts with song. We offer worship at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to fit a variety of schedules.

For over 85 years, the mission of First Church has been one of fellowship and ministry. Our doors and hearts are open to those who are seeking a place to celebrate their faith, as well as to those who are seeking a place to reflect, learn and grow. Come see for yourself ...
