First United Methodist Church of Copperhill

First United Methodist Church of Copperhill

About Us

United Methodist, relevant, relational, traditional worship, missions, welcoming

Known by many in the community as "the church on the hill," we believe that we should give to others as God has given to us. We seek to study God's Word, commit ourselves to caring service and prayer, and "put feet on our prayer" by being involved with those in need, near and far.

What to Expect

What are services like?
Services are usually quite traditional, and dress and atmosphere is casual and supportive

What is the community like?
The congregation comes from the Greater Copper Basin, which is centered in Copperhill, but reaches into counties of North Carolina and Georgia, as well as Tennessee.

What if I'm not a Christian?
We are all seekers and followers of Jesus Christ. We invite all who would like to learn with us about God, Jesus, and how we can find peace with God, with ourselves, and with each other. All are welcome.

I was overwhelmed by the genuine, concerned welcome I received when I first visited this church. More than a decade later, the down-to-earth, genuine desire to share Christ's love with all who enter is still there. I am accepted here for who I am, not for what I do. It is a safe place to share life's questions and burdens. It is a learning place. It is a loving place. There are great opportunities here to study the Bible and how to apply it to today's world. Truly this church tries to accept all, just as the Heavenly Father loves and accepts all.
