About Us

An open, artistic, multicultural church

First Christian Church is located in the beautiful and eclectic neighborhood of Dilworth in Charlotte, North Carolina. A home to musicians, artists, thinkers, and refugees, this church on the corner of East Blvd. and Dilworth Road, East seeks to live out Jesus' calling to love the outcast, the newcomer, and the powerless. This is a church where God's love really shines--welcoming people often rejected by other faith communities. Even your struggles are welcome here. First Christian Church is also a home to the Dilworth Soup Kitchen, serving a delicious free lunch every Monday from 11:30am-12:30pm.

We worship at 11 am on Sundays, with Bible Study for all ages at 9:45 am. Every Sunday, communion is served. Children's Church and Nursery available as well. Join us!

Jolin McElroy

Pastor Jolin McElroy has been energized by the work of First Christian Church since her arrival in the year 2000. She is the founding pastor of the Dilworth Soup Kitchen, as well as an artist who has exhibited her paintings and drawings in many galleries and churches. Originally from the Chicago area, Rev. McElroy has learned to love Charlotte and its people, now after 13 years, calling the Queen City home. Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 43:1-7
