First Baptist Church

I am not quite sure what I witnessed this afternoon, but it was unsettling. As I was leaving the auto parts store I heard someone yelling and dogs barking. When I looked over I watched as a homeless man was grabbing the dogs leashes and taking them into his shelter (just some pallets covered by a tarp). While he was doing this, the pastor was yelling at him that he has to leave. I don't understand, are we not supposed to try and help people less fortunate than ourselves? Should we not try and help find somewhere that our homeless can stay warm through these harsh winter months? I am dismayed with the entire ordeal, and I feel as though our pastor should be helping the homeless, not trying to run them off. I watched this homeless man picking up all of the trash from the parking lot that he calls home. This just feels wrong, and all I could see was hatred and prejudice for someone we need to show love and understanding.
