What to Expect

What are services like?
The 8:30am and 11:00am services are traditional in that well known hyms are sung. There is a congregational prayer, readings from the Bible and preaching by our pastor. At our 9:45am contemporary worship service, we sing praise and worship songs that are led by our Praise Band. The service includes a time of prayer and a sermon. The dress is casual, the music upbeat and our praise and worship comes from the heart.

Leadership

Grant Parker

Grant Parker

Reverend Grant Parker is a native of Phenix City. He has served as the pastor of the Hatchechubbee, Jernigan, Pittsview and Uchee churches on the Pittsview (AL) Charge, and also many south Alabama churches as well as Gulfview UMC in Panama City Beach, Florida before coming to Epworth in 2008. Brother Grant is a graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Huntingdon College and Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Grant's hunger for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and missions had led him to participate in outreach efforts at home as well as in countries beyond our boarders.
