About Us

The VISION of Emmanuel is to be a diverse and dynamic community of God's people. The MISSION of Emmanuel is to know and share the love of Jesus Christ.

As you visit our website and facebook page, we hope you get a sense of the prayerful, energetic, and fun community of people here. We are seeking to know God more through Jesus Christ, and we invite you to join our journey.

Our experience is that Emmanuel is like a base camp. We meet here for worship, study, and spiritual nourishment, to know the love of God. Then we venture out to live, to serve, to carry the Light which is filling us, to share the love of God.

Bless you in your life—wherever you are—and we welcome you to make Emmanuel your faith home, your base camp.

The Rev. Brad Sullivan
Associate Rector

I love Jesus, and I believe in his way, his truth, and his life. I am solidly Episcopalian because of our worship and our ways of prayer, of living scripture deeply in our lives, and of serving others. Additionally, I also love that the Episcopal Church does not require unanimity or uniformity in order to have unity. We believe that Jesus binds us all together as beloved, flawed, and cherished children of God. In my priesthood, my focus is on that love of God for all and the way of Jesus for all who wish to follow in his way (and for so many who follow in much of Jesus' way even without believing in him). We believe in a loving God who has reconciled all humanity to himself, and that is the God whom I seek to serve. My family and I live in Houston, where I was raised since I was two. Kristin, my wife, is also a priest and serves as religion teacher and chaplain at St. Mark's Episcopal School in Bellaire. Our three children, Noah, Rhys, and Ellie are the joy of our lives (except when they aren't...and even then, they still are!). They amaze us, challenge us (boy howdy!), demand our best (which we often can't give), and continually show us the beauty of life and creation. We are so grateful for them and each other, and we are also so grateful for our parents who help raise the kiddos after school while we are at work. May the Lord bless you and keep you, Brad+
