Desert Streams Lutheran Church

Desert Streams Lutheran Church

Who We Are

Inviting Everyone to a New Life in Christ

Desert Streams is located just outside the fast growing community of Surprise, Arizona. Though we are a cross-generational congregation, we focus on ministering to the needs of young singles and families.

Our Services

Service Times

  • 08:30am - Spirited Traditional
  • 10:30am - Contemporary Praise

What to Expect

What are services like?
Worship at Desert Streams is casual. We follow a Lutheran order of service, but we have modified it so that people who have not been connected with a Christian congregation will still feel comfortable and the worship will still be meaningful. Our 8:30 features traditional hymns, while the 10:30 offers more contemporary songs. Holy Communion is celebrated at all worship services. The children's education ministry takes place at the same time as the worship services. Children join their parents after the sermon so that they can participate in some worship and celebrate communion if they so desire.

What is the community like?
Desert Streams is a crossgenerational congregation. Though we focus on young families, children and youth, we have many active, retired adults. We are a hospitable congregation, greeting everyone with a smile and a hug or handshake. We are an inclusive congregation--everyone is welcomed and accepted.

What if I'm not a Christian?
You're still welcomed at Desert Streams. We'll do all that we can to make your worship experience positive and meaningful. The sermons will be down-to-earth, and easy to understand. You will be accepted and not pressured to conform or to "come to Jesus." When you want to talk about your faith and a relationship with Jesus, we'll be there to converse with you and help you take your next steps.

Dear Kevin Ruffcorn, I read sermons by you on Luce 7,36-50; ; Mark 12,28-44 and Luce 6,1-11 on the Internet, to which I linked from the website that has just gone online. Because for my retirement, as long as the LORD gives me the time and strength, I have decided to point out the opportunities for us Christians in the years 2030 to 2033. For this purpose, I had a website designed that is so plain and simple that it can be copied for other languages according to instructions. I have now tried that with the help of google translator with English. It is my goal that in the future even more such websites are linked to one another and become so visible that the disciples of Jesus really went to all peoples or are still on the way. Second, the aim is that we / each take more seriously what Jesus Matthew 28:19 says: "... and teach them to keep what I have commanded you." Sincerely yours Dr. sc. theol.
